Leonardo DiCaprio has put his Malibu house on the market for $7.999 million.  Hey, he’s really not trying to make much of a profit on the place, he paid $6.35 million for it back in 2007.

Don’t let this picture deceive you.   It’s on the cliffs of Malibu…so your lot goes all the way to the ocean, it’s just somewhat difficult to get there.  Also, there’s no neighbors to the right of you, the lot is currently empty.  The house has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and is 2,374 sq. feet.  And based on what Leo paid for the house in 2007, his taxes on the property are only $64,550 per year.  It’s a bargain!

Sally Field just listed her Malibu house for sale at $6.95 million.  As you can see, it’s a pretty big place, 5,694 square feet to be exact.  She bought it back in 2004 for a little more than $4.8 million.  That’s not a bad return, if she can actually get what she’s asking for.  In case you haven’t heard, real estate is not exactly selling like it used to.  Even the celebrities are taking hits on their properties.  Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne and David Spade have gone so far as to settle for renting their houses out, since they can’t get anyone to buy them (even with some significant price drops).

Maybe Sally can pull some heavenly strings, since she did play the flying nun and all, and have some angel swoop in and buy her place before it sits on the market too long.

Looks like Tori Spelling won’t be able to lavish her kids with the same kind of house spoiling that she and brother Randy received.  Mom, Candy Spelling has officially put the Aaron Spelling mansion on the market for $150 million.  In case you keep track of such things, this would be the most expensive house listing in the United States.

With the sale, Candy and company will be saying goodbye to 56,000 square feet of domecile and almost 5 acres of private rose gardens, citrus groves, swimming pool, and tennis courts.  And let’s not forget the infamous gift wrap room and indoor bowling alley.  I wonder if her neighbors, Hugh Hefner and the Playboy Bunnies and the LA Country Club will throw her a nice going away party?

If you were wondering how she was able to have such a large home, it was due to Aaron.  Aaron Spelling produced most of the hit shows in the late 70’s through to his death in 2006.  He was behind Charlie’s Angels, Beverly Hills 90210, Melrose Place, and Dynasty…to name just a few.

Don’t cry for Candy.  She isn’t a victim of the bad economy, she’s just downsizing.  She has already purchased a 16,500 square foot, two story condo in a Century City building scheduled to be finished later this year.  So visits to grandma’s house won’t be quite as pastoral as when the kiddies got to go visit and play in the grass at the manse.

A lot has been written about how much Britney affects the economy…paparazzi money for her pictures, record label for her music, what clothes she wears..etc.  But here’s a new one.  Ed McMahon’s house is in foreclosure and Britney might be partly to blame.

Ed’s house, in the gated community The Summit in Beverly Hills, is really close to Britney Spears’.  It’s been on the market for 2 years and hasn’t been sold.  Paparazzi, on the day of at least one open house, numbered around 100.  If people can’t get to the house, that makes for a really bad open house.

Anywhoooo….Countrywide Financial filed foreclosure documents in LA County back in February.  It seems that Ed is behind $644,000 in payments.  One of the other reasons given for his lack of payments is that he broke his neck, back in March, and hasn’t been able to do any product endorsements.

50 Cents Long Island mansion went up in flames this morning under suspicious circumstances.  Apparently 50, and his baby mama, have been having some legal battles over the house.  Which pretty much boils down to he wants her out and she says he promised her the house.  The fire department is calling this one suspicious due to the the intensity of the fire.  Hmmmmm…..Sounds like someone was taking a page out of the Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes Andre Rison playbook.  (Everyone in the house, including the girlfriend and 50’s child got out safely.)

Jose Conseco told Inside Edition that he’s had his $2.5 million dollar Valley home foreclosed on. Yeah yeah, we’ve been hearing a lot about foreclosures recently, just not with the celebrity set. But the foreclosure isn’t what I’ve found to be disturbing or newsworthy, his statements are just re-damn-diculous.

“I do have a judgment on my home and it to me is very strange because it didn’t make financial sense for me to keep paying a mortgage on a home that was basically owned by someone else. You know my life, this financial thing, is a very complicated issue. Obviously, when you make all that money, people think, `OK, let’s assume it is $35 million.’ People have to understand that $35 million, you’re paying the government 41 percent. That leaves you with about $17 or $18 million, not even. Then you’re taking care of your whole family.”

Um…unless you’ve paid off your house…it’s owned by someone else – you’re mortgage lender. And Boo f’n Who…you only have $17-$18 million left after taxes. Good luck trying to sell those baseball steroid use books of yours.

Kate Clarke, Angelina Jolie’s body double has listed her Silverlake home/cottage for sale.  Isn’t it sooooo cute?  It’s 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom and 724 square feet.  Yes, we here in California live in some pretty small little houses.  Not everyone lives in something like the Spelling mansion.  But here’s the absolute best part about the listing…she’s asking $724,000 for it.  Nope, I’m not making this up.  $1000/square foot.  I’m not sure if Miss Clarke is aware of the current housing market, but those kinds of numbers really aren’t going to fly.  Especially since Silverlake is nowhere near the water either.  It’s a cool part of LA, but even in Beverly Hills, they’re only getting an average of $697/square foot.   It’s not like Brad Pitt comes with the house.

This ugly concrete monstrosity, that he was whining and moaning about the mortgage payments, was all a fake. Well, the house isn’t fake, it’s quite real and on the market for $3,199,000, but Scott’s little girl whiny imitation was just for show. But seriously, is anyone out there shocked that they couldn’t get any good material from the life of Chachi?
