Jamie Lee Curtis arrived at the Noche de Ninos Gala for Children’s Hospital last night decked out in a plunging black velvet dress revealing her amazing cleavage, but the boobies were completely upstaged by the Britney Spears “batshit crazy period” pink wig.  No, Jamie Lee has not lost her mind and started bashing cars with an umbrella, or containers of Activia.

The wig belonged to an 11 year girl who was suffering from Cancer when Jamie Lee met her.

“We were at a news conference, and she pulled off this wig and on her head she had written ‘Jamie Lee Curtis Rocks,’” the actress told me about her first meeting with the girl when she was 11.”

Jamie Lee borrowed her wig, that night, to attend a benefit for Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh and they raised millions of dollars.  After the girl died, at age 15, Jamie Lee Curtis asked the girls mother if she could have the wig and carry on the girls message.

Last night Jamie Lee was awarded this year’s Courage to Care Award, by Governor/Actor Arnold Schwarzenegger.

We haven’t seen something like this in a long time here in Hollywood.  A couple has announced their engagement and it wasn’t preceeded by an announcement of a pregnancy.  Trent Reznor and Mariqueen Maandig (also known as q) announced their engagement this weekend on Mariqueen’s band website.  Mariqueen is the lead singer in a band called West Indian Girl.  Back in December of ‘08, q did a layout for Playboy in which she cleared up some confusion regarding her ethnicity…along with a couple more important facts:

The first thing to know about Mariqueen Maandig, vocalist and eyeball magnet for the L.A. space rockers West Indian Girl, is that she’s Filipino, not West Indian. The second thing is that she’s tired of explaining her name and so answers to “Q.” Third, intriguing if not important, she does not wear underwear. “Never,” she says. “I like to be as aerodynamic as possible.”

The trailer for Sacha Baron Cohen’s movie Bruno came out today.  The only thing I can say is:  I am warning you that it is piss your pants funny.  Which is exactly what I needed today.  Oh, yeah they also slapped an age restriction on the trailer.  Probably because the dolts over at MPAA are still fussing about what rating they are going to give Bruno.  On their first viewing they cursed it with an NC-17 rating.  I guess I should also mention this is NSFW.

So what did you do when you were 48?  What do you plan to do when you’re 48?  Well, if you’re Valerie Bertinelli, you pose on the cover of a huge nationally distributed magazine in your bikini.   Unlike Kirstie Allie, who stripped off for Oprah, Bertinelli posed on the cover of People Magazine in her bikini where people could stare at it non-stop and let the guilt seep into their brains that they don’t look that hot at half her age.

Retired pro golfer, Annika Sorenstam, announce on her blogthis morning that she’s expecting her first child with husband Mike McGee.

Mike and I are very pleased to announce that we expecting our first child. We have had a lot of exciting changes in the past few months, and adding a new addition to our family later this fall will certainly be at the top of that list.  We are absolutely thrilled and look forward to this new chapter of our lives!  We appreciate the love and support that we have received from our family, friends, and of course my fans.

Annika retired at the end of last year’s season, with 72 career wins, to start a family and build her business. Looks like some of the Annika Sorenstam golf academies are going to be canceled.

It was leaked today that itty bitty Christina Ricci is engaged to comedian Owen Benjamin.  The two have been dating since the end of last year and will appear, together,  in All’s Faire in Love which will be released later this year.

I’m a big Christina Ricci fan.  I was sad to see her role end on Saving Grace.  What was particularly amusing about her being on that show is that they partnered her up with Holly Hunter.  If you ever thought Holly Hunter was small, you should see it when she and Ricci stand next to each other.

Just in case you were curious….Owen is 6′6″ and Christina is 5′1″.

James Franco started filming his new movie Howl which is about the beat poet Allen Ginsberg.  And that really is him.  I wonder how far they’re going to age him?  Allen Ginsberg has a pretty large bald spot at the age of 70.
