Ah love…and it sweet?  That is – until – the breakup.  Lovebirds Vanessa Minillo and Nick Lachey are officially ovah!

You know it’s official when the standard statement hits the press:

“They have amicably
split but remain good friends who still greatly care for one another,” Minnillo’s rep tells PEOPLE of the couple, who began dating in 2006.”

Based on the fact that these two haven’t been photographed out together much, unlike the first couple of years, it’s probably been a long time coming.  Also, since Vanessa was not shy about proclaiming the size of the rock she was expecting, Nick was probably a bit turned off by the whole relationship.
