Who knew? On again off again wife/ex-wife/baby mama/girlfriend of Travis Barker, Shanna Moakler, has had enough of Miss California and Donald Trump. In a statement to US Magazine, Moakler resigned from the Miss Universe Organization:
“I cannot with a clear conscious move forward supporting and promoting the Miss Universe Organization when I no longer believe in it, or the contracts I signed committing myself as a youth,” she continues. “I want to be a role model for young woman with high hopes of pageantry, but now feel it more important to be a role model for my children. I am sorry and hope I have not let any young supporters down but wish them the best of luck in fulfilling their dreams.”
I can’t believe that I find myself supporting Shanna Moakler in her decision. I’m pretty sure this will be the one and only time I will put a statement like that in writing.
I don’t care what Carrie Prejean’s ideas are on marriage, they are her own, but I find it particularly unbelievable that the fact that she lied to the pageant regarding the number of pictures she had taken and the nature of them allowed her to retain her crown. I don’t even care that she took the pictures. But if you have to disclose these things, and she didn’t, then you broke your contract and you lose your job. Donald Trump already had a precedent to follow when making his decision: the former Miss Nevada – Katie Rees.
