
Guiding Light, the longest running daytime drama, in history, has been canceled after 57 years on the air. Guiding Light was not renewed, by CBS, for the 2009/2010 season.
GL and the town of Springfield will see it’s last episode air on September 18, 2009.
Having been around since 1937, GL started as a 15 minute radio broadcast and hit the television airwaves in 1952, they have been a career start for many of today’s most well known celebrities including: Calista Flockhart, Kevin Bacon, Allison Janney, Cicely Tyson, James Earl Jones, Hayden Panettiere, Taye Diggs, and Brittany Snow.
