Not that I’m relishing in a couple’s demise, but it’s only Tuesday and there’s been a rash of weddings and engagements to report on already. But now I’ve got a divorce to break the happy nuptial news. Designer Rachel Roy has filed for divorce from former hip hop mogul Damon Dash. The couple has been married since 2005. Rachel and Dash met when she was working for his company Rocawear. (In 2005, he sold his ownership stake in Rocawear to Jay Z for $20 million.) In better days, Damon Dash was also a co-founder of Roc-a-Fella Records.
Lately, Dash has been buried in debt, screwed up business deals, and lawsuits. He’s in foreclosure on a couple of his condos, has had his SUV repossessed, and owes millions in back taxes.
Rachel’s fashion line is doing well, so I guess she’s tired of being dragged down by this loser.
