For reasons left unsaid, American Idol has kicked out one of the top 36 contestants. Last night, Idol released a statement that Joanna Pacitti was “ineligible to continue.” They didn’t give any reason, but they did give the name of her replacement: Felicia Barton.
Speculation is that it’s because of her previous professional achievements and that she was, at one time, under contract with Geffen Records.

the judges seemed to be keen on keeping Pacitti around, so why not keep her on the show? the show seems to thrive on scandal anyway…
