American consumerism meets the insatiable American diet.  This is truly the way we should be voting for our next President.  The top picture are the choices of cups you have when you go to 7-11 stores to fill up with your favorite cup of coffee.  Oh, they still have those tan cups…but those are for Independents or the “unsure” voters.  When you go to the register to pay for your cup, the UPC code is recorded and that’s how they track your vote.  Seems about as accurate as the exit polls.

You can see in the bottom picture, that Jones Soda has also stepped into the political crystal ball gazing business as well.

There are so many benefits to voting this way, how could we not consider this?

1. You get a better feeling after you’ve voted, because there’s an immediate payoff for your choice, your thirst has been quenched
2. You’ve gotten a chance to go shopping, one of the great American past times
3.  You’ve helped stimulate the economy.

I did a little math (something I don’t ordinarily do until I’ve had at least 3 cups of coffee, but here goes).  A bottle of Jones Soda is roughly $2.00.  The average price for a cup of coffee at 7-11 is $1 (see, you’ll also have the added benefit of saving yourself $3 or $4 from your usual cup of Starbucks coffee).  The number of people who voted in the 2004 Presidential election was: 121,069,054.  So I used a figure of $1.50 (the average of $2.00 and $1.00) and came up with $181,603,581 would be added to the economy.  It’s not quite $700 billion, but hey, it’s a start.  What do you think?
