Lots of stuff going on with Tom Cruise, Paula Wagner, UA (United Artists), and MGM. Paula’s leaving her partnership with Tom and UA. She’ll retain ownership, but is going to start her own thing. Now, their albatross movie Valkyrie might finally see the light of day. After changing release dates 4 times…it looks like the 5th time might be it.
Valkyrie was originally slated to be released in August 8, 2008,but the film was moved up earlier to be released in June 27 2008. Then it was changed to, to October 3 2008. In April 2008, the release date was pushed back to February 13, 2009. And now, the release date has been changed to December 26, 2008 with reports citing “commercial reasons for the move after a successful test screening.” I call BS, and say that it has something to do with Paula’s departure.
