Pete Wentz has a wedding to pay for and probably a kid to now pay for….but since he’s got his own clothing line why is he promoting Op - a clothing line being sold at Wal-Mart? I got the official press release from Wal-Mart and almost spit my “liquid pick me up” all over my monitor.
An interesting test begins next month at Wal-Mart in which the retailer will learn whether a major marketing campaign featuring some of today’s hippest television, movie and music personalities can breathe life into an iconic 70’s brand and drive full margin sales of apparel.
The campaign is set to debut in May is a print, radio and online campaign to support Iconix Brand Group’s Op line, which is launching in Wal-Mart stores under a direct-to-retail licensing agreement with the retailer. Featured in the campaign are personalities like Rumer Willis, Kristin Cavallari, Christina Milian, Josie Maran, Pete Wentz, Corbin Bleu and Wilmer Valderrama.
Yeah, the other bizarro world part of the press release is when it says “featuring some of today’s hippest television, movie and music personalities.” Seriously? Rumer Willis and Wilmer Valderrama? Hip?
