Patti Stanger, the owner of “Millionaire’s Club” and is the 800 pound gorilla in her show “Millionaire Matchmaker,” on BRAVO, has just secured a 6 figure book deal to co-write “Become Your Own Matchmaker: 10 Easy Steps to Attracting Your Perfect Mate”. I just threw up in my mouth a little bit. If you compare The Top 10 Rules (from “The Rules”) with Patti’s 10 Commandment’s For Dating – For Women. It looks to me like we might have a “Jessica Seinfeld” thing going on.
Just as women were starting to recover from “The Rules,” along comes Patti with her service of Matchmaking women deemed as “10’s.” Patti’s female clients, who get free memberships, are looking for a ‘traditional marriage relationship’ where they stay home to raise the family and the husband goes to work. But she claims she doesn’t have female clients who are gold diggers (um ooooookaaaaay).
From a reality standpoint, why bother taking advice from someone who hasn’t even managed to get married herself. (Patti has a long-time boyfriend, but they haven’t gotten married) Ellen Fein, one of the authors of “The Rules” and “The Rules for Marriage: Time-Tested Secrets for Making Your Marriage Work,” released this book as her marriage was falling apart. I’m just saying….
