Beyonce’s just determined to get her hands on an Oscar. Looks like since she was passed over for newbie Jennifer Hudson, Beyonce’s got a couple of new films working. She’s in production on Cadillac Records right now, in which she’s playing Etta James…oh goody, another period piece.
But she’s also got a film in pre-production called Obsessed. Not to be outdone by her boytoy, Jay-Z, she and her Dadager (Matthew Knowles) are exec producing this one. I suppose that’s one way to make sure you get cast in a movie that’s not character driven, like Austin Powers or a period piece like Dreamgirls. Can’t wait to see if this goes straight to video like Jessica Simpson’s last movie did.
On a related note, Kelly Rowlands - who’s still managed by Matthew Knowles, has asked dadager Knowles, for some assistance in getting her some acting gigs on Broadway. The casting still looks pretty open for Obsessed, why don’t you just ask for a part in that?
