I guess Bud Selig is trying to deflect attention away from the current steroid scandal by giving the Yankees approval to sign Billy Crystal to a minor league contract. Yes, that Billy Crystal. No this isn’t some young up and comer with an amazing arm…it’s the guy who’s done those semi-awful song parodies on the Oscars and is going to be 60 in a few days. Yes, they’re signing him to a contract so he can play in a pre-season exhibition game.

At least when Garth Brooks did this stunt, he was raising money for his charity foundation.
